Lone Star Dispatch issue 3

Part 1:
News: Opportunities down in Florida

1. This story is about how 6 of the newspaper staff went to a convention in November in Orlando, Florida. The convention was about writing, photography, and graphic design. They learned a lot of new information and pushed them to always keep improving, they also bonded a lot and played a lot of games at the hotel with each other.
2. Glenwinkel, Duran, Barbosa, Correa and Reeves were all quoted in the story.
3. The strongest quote in the story is " I was able to refresh my photography skills as well as learn hoe important it is that you push for more information in every story and don't settle for the broad answers." from a senior Jasmine Correa.
4. The lead sentence did make me want to keep reading.
5. The conclusion was a quote.

Commentary: Science Fair is getting too competitive for students

1. This story is explaining how the science fair isn't fun anymore and is causing people too much time and money to complete. Science fair should be for extra credit or optional as Gavin Farner says in the story.

4. The lead was good but it could've been a little bit stronger and more appealing to read.

Student Life: WWII lives one with Yeager's collection

1. This story is about how a senior, Jake Yeager, puts on shows about world war II in different museums across Texas, he travels as far as Kansas. The actors wear the same type of clothing they wore in WWII and they also use original weapons. He puts on the shows to educate other children to help them learn more information about history. Yeager's shows look real and he tries to keep them up to scale as much as possible.

Entertainment: In Review: Mockingjay Part 2 

1. The story is a reflection about the last hunger games and how everything turned out in the end. He described all the people and he told us who died and how the rest of the people who survived ended up acting.

Athletics: Girls basketball thrives through the seasons challenges

1. This story is about the girls basketball season and their record. The girls have to stay healthy and work together to win their next games.
2. Vickie Benson, Amber Lotz, and Kianna Ray, are quoted in the story.
3. The strongest quote is is " Coach gives us multiple chances to prove ourselves and thats what I love. If you mess up you just have to work hard and make up for it," Amber Lotz says.

Part 2:
1. My favorite photo in the entire paper is on page 4, with the article title "Opportunities down in Florida." It was my favorite because I liked the trees and the water together.

2. My least favorite picture is on page 7, with the article title "Subs don't replace teachers". This is my least favorite picture because it is boring and it is not too detailed.

3. I would want to do entertainment if i was a photographer.

4. I would rate this around an 8 out of 10.

Part 3:
My suggestion for the 4th issue of the newspaper would be community or things going on in neighborhoods around Bowie.
